Para preparar el dictado del jueves, 17 de diciembre, los alumnos tendrán que copiar 3 veces las palabras siguientes en el cuaderno de deberes de francés (cuaderno morado). Dicha preparación tendrán que enseñármela el mismo día del dictado. En el caso de que algún alumno no realice la preparación, se le bajarán 2 puntos de la nota.

SOCIAL STUDIES CLASSES CE1-CM2

As the end of 2020 quickly approaches, we are wrapping up the first theme of our Social Studies classes; the solar system! The kids have really enjoyed learning about this topic!

We ask that everyone make a replica of the solar system for the week of December 14th. (If your child will be absent that week, please let us know, and they can present theirs the week before!) The students will present their work (maximum 2 minutes per child), along with some interesting facts that we’ve learned.

There are no grades in Social Studies, however, the English teachers will be grading their students on their, creativity, knowledge and presentation skills. This presentation will be done in English, of course 🙂

Dear Parents and Students,

As you know, we will have English Exam 1 on Thursday and Friday next week, the 26th and the 27th of November. We will be preparing for it this week, and the children will be allowed to bring home their course books and folders tomorrow, Tuesday, so they can start reviewing. They must, however, bring them back on Thursday.

There will be no other homework except to start reviewing for this exam which will ask the children to do the following:

  1. Identify letters
  2. Match capital/uppercase letters with lowercase letters
  3. Write letters from letter sounds and names
  4. Identify and write first letters of words
  5. Read and match words to images
  6. Spell « short A » words
  7. Choose the correct sentence to go with the image
  8. Read words out loud.

Please go over Units 1 and 2, and Review 1 (to be done this week in class) in the Oxford Phonics World 2 Workbook. Look at the different exercises and evaluations in the Fun File (white folder) for further revision.

As you know, we will have English Exam 1 on Thursday and Friday next week, the 26th and the 27th of November. There will be no other homework except to start reviewing for this exam which will cover topics discussed in class from Global English 4 (grammar review of past tenses in the orange notebook) and Global English 5 (Unit 1, Learner’s Book and Activity Book):

  1. Past tenses: simple past, past continuous, present perfect for both regular and irregular verbs. Know how to conjugate the verbs and when to use them.
  2. « For » and « since » with the present perfect.
  3. WH question words: ask and answer questions during an interview.
  4. Describing people: adjectives for personal qualities.
  5. -ed / -ing adjectives. Know when an adjective should end in -ed or -ing.
  6. Word lists in the purple/homework notebook. Know how to spell them and what they mean.

Hello CP Students!

Our first big test is coming up next week! How exciting! You will be tested on everything we have done so far, and you are all doing such a great job, it won’t be a problem!

Use your book, worksheets and homework to study. We will also review this week in class! 🙂

Listening:

-identify all the letters of the alphabet by their letter names and sounds

-know which word starts with which letter (eg H-A-T starts with H)

-identify numbers 1- 20

Writing:

  • identify and write the letters of the alphabet correctly (out of alphabetical order)
  • identify and write the letters by the sound they make (out of alphabetical order)
  • identify different objects for each letter, example: B – bear, bed, banana, bird
  • choose the right letter among the letters that look or sound alike
  • write/spell the words: cat, fat, rat, sat, mat
  • man, pan, can, fan, dad, pad, map, yak, yam, ax, box, zip
  • matching exercises: for example – letters with pictures

Comprehension:

  1. Read simple sentences and match the words to the picture.
  2. Identify which letter a picture belongs to (example: put a c beside the car or the apple)
  3. Understand a spoken sentence and identify the picture it belongs to (example: Where is the rabbit?)
  4. Find a word in a simple sentence (example: The pig is pink. Circle the word “pig”.)

Oral:

  • Identify colors in conjunction with oral questions such as: What color is your jacket? What color are your shoes?

Answer questions such as:

-What is your name?

-Spell your name

-How old are you?

-Where do you live?

-What is your favourite animal?

-What is your favourite colour?

-Do you have a brother/sister?

What’s the weather like? (Just like in our song!)

Hello CE2 Students!

Next week we will have our trimester tests! Here is a list of what you need to study. You can find all of it in either your books, notebooks or homework. We will review all this week!

Grammar:

1.future tense with will and going to

2. adjectives with -ed and -ing

3.can and could

4. past continuous and simple past

Writing:

  1. Review all of the spelling words (please do not write any words 3x each or sentences to hand in to me, please review them as you see fit!) We will have a spelling test.
  2. Letter writing: you will be asked to write a letter to a friend.

Reading Comprehension:

  1. You will be asked to read a text and answer questions regarding the text.
  2. You will be asked to identify and label the different types of poems and recreate one of your own.

English Exam 1 will take place on the  26th and 27th of November 2020. The exam will be based on  Units 1-6 in Oxford Discover 5 and the notes and exercises in the orange notebook. Please also look at the worksheets in the plastic folders and the homework assignments. Questions will be similar to those we have worked on in class and the homework assignments.

¡Hola!

Le « grand contrôle » approche mais ne vous inquiétez pas,il est facile et je suis sûre que les enfants auront une très bonne note 😉  Il faut réviser un peu tous les jours (15 minutes) le vocabulaire que nous avons travaillé depuis le debut de l’année. Aquí os dejo la lista de contenidos.

Tout le vocabulaire est dans la pochette à lamelles donc les élèves pourront l’ammener tous les jours pour réviser à condition qu’elle ne reste pas à la maison.

Para preparar el dictado del jueves, 19 de noviembre, los alumnos tendrán que copiar 3 veces las palabras siguientes en el cuaderno de deberes de francés (cuaderno morado). Dicha preparación tendrán que enseñármela el mismo día del dictado. En el caso de que algún alumno no realice la preparación, se le bajarán 2 puntos de la nota.

  • Décrire le plan d’une maison (la casa) ou d’un appartement (el piso): les pièces (el recibidor, el pasillo, la cocina, el salón-comedor, el cuarto de baño, el dormitorio) et leur situation (al fondo (de), a la derecha (de), a la izquierda (de), al lado (de)).
  • Conjuguer le verbe ESTAR au présent.
