Recently in our oral sessions we have been focusing on describing our friends and family in detail, both their physical appearance and their personalities. We have also practised writing on this topic in class.
For this week’s homework please review the classwork in your class cahier, and write a descriptive paragraph (7 lines or so) describing your best friend or a family member. Please give a title to your piece of your choosing.
You will only receive high marks if you model your paragraph on our classwork writing, using our new adjectives and sentence starters.
Welcome back! Here are your list of spellings for our first week’s test. Please complete in your HOMEWORK CAHIER ONLY (purple notebook). Please write each word three times. Remember to cover the word after you write it the first time and try write it without looking. This is how you learn to write the word and not simply copy!
Remember: All homework assignments (French, English, German, Spanish) are to be done in your purple « cahier de devoirs« . You can do the homework directly in the notebook or if you prefer, you can print the homework assignment and glue the finished copy into your « cahier de devoirs ».
This week in class I will give you each an interesting and short reading book. You can borrow this book for the weekend. You must practise reading it out loud by yourself and also in the company of an adult.
For Monday’s testing I will ask you to read from this text to the class. Pay attention to your punctuation as you read.
You must also be able to discuss orally the following points:
-Who is the main character?
-What is the theme of the text?
-What do you think of the conclusion of the text?
I can’t wait to hear all about your trip to England!
Please write a paragraph entitled:
My Trip to London
and in 8-10 sentences tell me what you thought about this city. For example, is it an exciting city? What was the most enjoyable moment for you? What is your best memory of the trip? Use adverbs and adjectives from our recent classwork please.
Please read over your verbs afterwards and ask yourself if you are writing in the ‘Past’ or the ‘Present’.
Practise reading your paragraph at home because you will be required to READ ALOUD your work and you will be graded on this reading!
