Cambridge English Young Learners Exam

Dear Parents,

Many of your children have a letter and an information sheet in his/her French cahier de correspondance regarding the British Council’s Young Learners Exams. This is a set of three exams (Starters, Movers, Flyers – depending on your child’s age and level of English) designed for primary school children. The exams are created to motivate and encourage young learners to achieve their full potential. The exams are conducted and overseen by members of the British Council. The exams are not compulsory; however, they do provide an excellent opportunity for your child to gain experience writing an exam under very formal and strictly controlled conditions with supervisors they do not know.  Although we will be doing preparation for the exam in school, some work would need to be done at home.

Here is a link providing you with more information:  https://www.britishcouncil.fr/en/exam/cambridge/certificates/yle

With best wishes,

Mr Seear’s CE1 Poetry Due 18th of February

Dear Parents and Students,

I have been very impressed with the work that has been put in over the last few weeks! Keep it up! Vacation is just round the corner.

In May Eurecole will be hosting a poetry competition, I am sure our CE1 class are going to do great in it!

In preparation I would like my students to watch this video as they are learning their poem for next week.

Mr Seear’s CE Poetry 18.2

Remember that whilst we are studying a comedic poem, body language is an important aspect of a good recital!

Students have the poem in their notebooks, however here is a copy of the pdf. I hope to see them prepared in class on Monday.

Mr Seear
